Shonka Dukureh Death
Shonka Dukureh, who played Big Mama Thornton in the Elvis Presley movie this year, was discovered dead on Thursday in a bedroom at her Nashville home, according to authorities. She was 44.
No evidence of wrongdoing, according to Nashville police. The medical examiner's autopsy results have not yet been released.

Dukureh, a Nashville vocalist and graduate of Fisk University, resided in the flat with her two young children, according to the police. After seeing her unresponsive, one of the kids ran to a neighbor's apartment and dialed 911 just before 9:30 a.m., according to the police.
